I work with people who are trying to shield MRI magnet rooms from RF and from what I hear it tends to be the doors that leak the most.

Will, do you have access to a double-blind study supporting the cell-tower-headache hypothesis?AJhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14159764843937350178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4681853571444952941.post-33548442922457902342009-08-28T20:45:37.595-04:002009-08-28T20:45:37.595-04:00Thanks for the great info! It would be safe if they used real RF mesh for the window, but as your calculations show they only have enough shielding to achieve the FCC limit, which was invented after the first microwave ovens made people sick instantly. Will Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18011220241768541268noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4681853571444952941.post-12405453446171369842009-08-27T06:33:47.571-04:002009-08-27T06:33:47.571-04:00I think you'll find that the leakage through the m...I think you'll find that the leakage through the metal of the microwave is negligible. The leakage around the door seal would be a big issue, but they design a quarter-wave choke flange into the door - which presents a frequency-selective RF containment around the door.

See also the later posts on this thread: http://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?topic=20690.0
<brAndrew Steer (aka techmind)http://www.techmind.org/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4681853571444952941.post-9302219767341236182009-08-26T18:17:36.996-04:002009-08-26T18:17:36.996-04:00NERD!NERD!eit_cyrushttp://claneit.orgnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4681853571444952941.post-14632878666464636642009-08-21T13:56:06.772-04:002009-08-21T13:56:06.772-04:00I love reading your stuff...but shouldn't you be w...I love reading your stuff...but shouldn't you be writing your thesis?

Hope all's well in the Ville.Ryanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14752322283490815009noreply@blogger.com
